I have done $ sudo service ssh status on the remote PC and it says : But I can do ssh localhost on the remote desktop and it works fine.īoth the PC's are on differnt network ( obviously), therefore i can't even do $ ping that-ipv4-address from my local machine. I tried to get the IP of the remote desktop using ip a and found an IPv4 address at eth0, and when I try to log in to that from my local machine using $ ssh it does nothing, after sometime says $ ssh: Connection timed out. And opessh-client on my local machine (Pop!_os). I installed openssh-server on that machine using AnyDesk.
I have a work desktop, which for some reason, I need to restart but can't possibly do remotely, I can connect the work desktop(Ubuntu 16.04) through AnyDesk and TeamViewer but they do not provide me access to restart the PC remotely.
